Groundhog Day 2010 is February 2, 2010 *Groundhog Day information about Groundhog Day to explain what Groundhog Day is & why americans see Groundhog Day as a celebration in ways. American Folklores

Groundhog Day is on February 2 every year. This American Celebrations also considered a celebration in Canada. Groundhog day comes from an old folklore that has been passed around over the years. According to the folklore it is believed that if a groundhog comes out of his hole in the ground it means winter is ending and there will be an early spring. The folklores also saying that if the groundhog comes out of the hole and sees its shadow it means that there is still 6 more weeks of winter. Groundhog Day Celebrations in the United States are said to have started around the 18th or 19th Century.

Some people believe folklores like groundhog day but, in reality it does not matter if the groundhog has seen it shadow and went back into its hole or not. The weather forecasts by the groundhog are said to be not even half accurate for weather forecasts. I love animals and think groundhogs are beautiful so, for me it is a fun idea and day. It is nice to think that for 1 day everyone has to hear about groundhogs grin. I find groundhogs to be beautiful & find it fun seeing groundhog pictures and groundhog videos with groundhogs making the news and weather channels even if just in mention of Groundhog Day.

I went from Kansas City Missouri to Dallas Texas to find no snow in the winter time for Dallas Weather was about 15 Degrees hotter than Kansas City Missouri. Missouri not to be confused with Kansas City Kansas grin. In Missouri it seemed to snow all winter from about Christmas or Thanksgiving to Spring Time or even late March. In Dallas the summer was hot and long also. In Nordic parts of europe like Denmark & Sweden they have below freezing weather and snow with long nights in the winter. The summer time never seems to get very warm and the Atlantic Ocean waters always very cold. I however would not trade life in Europe for live in America. I will not ever go back to the usa but, I do wish it were warm in summer here. grin. Anyway what I am trying to say now is that Groundhog day does not in anyway effect the weather in Europe & sure not up north in Viking countries grin. Though summers are very short in Sweden and winters seem to last longer it is by far 1 of the most beautiful places in the world.

Though I have not seen groundhogs out here you know they have hedgehogs. I have photos of 1 of the Hedgehogs I saw near the ocean and yard out here. Hedgehogs are also beautiful animals. I got to pet the hedgehog and even took Hedgehog photos you can find on the link for why I love europe.

February 2nd photos below or hedgehog photos show the hedgehog pictures I took in the summer of 2009 via Sweden near the ocean. I guess Groundhog day can also be seen as Hedgehog day but, out here we have still much winter and cold to make it through before the beautiful spring time hits. Sweden is one of the most beautiful places in the world all year long & every day!

The hedgehog was soft when I got to pet it near the face. The hedgehog acted like it did love the attention. When you pet the back of a hedgehog it feels more like a plastic hairbrush in ways. It is very hard to explain but the entire experience was beautiful. Shh do not tell my cat zola or she would really be made eh. grin.

I would declare it a cat love day but, every day is a cat love day when you have cats. grin. I never have to declare official cat love days because every day is made for cat love.

Groundhog Day 2010 the Famous Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil *Whom btw is a very cute & cuddly looking groundhog known for weather predictions on Feb. 2, 2010 Saw his shadow. When the groundhog sees his shadow it means 6 more weeks of winter for the people in america that wish to believe the groundhogs predictions come true.
